A brave antelope mum defended her baby from a jackal and hyena.

Simiren Taek was leading a tour through Maasai Mara, Kenya, on January 22 when he spotted a topi herd under attack.

Dramatic footage – viewed more than 4.3million times – showed a jackal chasing after a newborn antelope as its mother desperately tried to fend it off.

Despite successfully rebuffing the jackal, an opportunistic hyena used the distraction to capture the baby topi.
