BRAVE OTTER FAMILY AVOID CROCODILE ATTACK AFTER BITING ITS TAIL

A brave otter family avoided a crocodile attacked after snapping at its tail.
Kelvin Leong was visiting Sungei Buloh Wetland Reserve, Singapore, on March 21 when eight smooth-coated otters started harassing an estuarine crocodile.
Amazing footage captured the otters ignoring their size disadvantage before jumping into the water at their potential predator.
The annoyed crocodile lunged towards the annoying animals, but the otters eventually chased it away, forcing it to swim away.

Kelvin said: “The encounter was thrilling beyond words, a rare spectacle you don’t get to see every day.
“It was a family of eight smooth-coated otters including two pups.
“Smooth-coated otters are frequently observed displaying curiosity or defensive behaviour toward estuarine crocodiles.
“Despite over a decade of photographing them, this was my first time witnessing the crocodile’s fierce defence.
“Outnumbered, it displayed remarkable intelligence, slowly retreating and submerging into the shallow waters.”
