ANGRY BUFFALO CHARGES HEADFIRST AT SAFARI JEEP AND DENTS DOOR

An angry buffalo charged head first at a safari jeep and dented its door.
Deon Wessels was leading a tour through Sabi Sands, South Africa, on December 9 2025 when his group came across one of the continent’s famous ‘big 5’.
Dramatic footage captured the moment the buffalo – stressed from surviving an earlier lion attack – sprinted towards Deon and his guests.
The one ton buffalo continued its charge and clattered into the jeep, leaving a dent in the vehicle’s door.
“It’s not a regular thing to see. It’s more common to see them do this when the waterholes dry up.“

Deon, from Chitwa Chitwa private lodge, said: “I’ve never had a full charge of a buffalo with no warning signs at all. It just took out its frustrations on my car.
“This particular bull had a run in with a pride of lions about an hour prior to this.
“I was guiding a couple and we came around a corner, and we spotted this buffalo not knowing it was the same one that got away from the lions.
“The buffalo’s body language changes when he spots us. Its a clear sign of an incoming charge with no stopping. The perfect signs of a stressed animal.
“Once he started the charge, my main concern was the safety of my tracker sitting on the front of the vechile and my guests sitting behind me.
“I tried to reverse but had no chance to get away. So I had to angle my car in a way that he hits my door side on.
“The guests were not injured. It all happened so quickly but luckily there was only a damaged door frame.”
