ELEPHANT SLAMS CROCODILE INTO TREE AFTER IT BITES ITS TRUNK

1–2 minutes

An elephant slammed a crocodile into a tree after it bit its trunk.

Footage captured on an Africam live camera at Victoria Falls Safari Lodge, Zimbabwe, on August 24 showed a herd of elephants enjoying a nighttime drink.

Shocking footage captured the moment a crocodile launched out of the water and clamped one of the elephant’s trunks in its powerful jaws.

The stunned elephant lifted the crocodile out of the water and swung it in the air and into a nearby tree to get the predator to let go.

A spokesperson for Africam said: “We were shocked the crocodile got its trunk and more amazement on the elephant shaking off the crocodile into the bush.

“The crocodile is small but not too small, obviously not big enough to take on an elephant of this age

“This crocodile is known to do this to elephants and buffalo and often targets them, he has never been successful though.

“He often snaps at the trunks of elephants, which must leave injuries.”
