A massive crocodile stole a hippo meal from a hyena clan.
Albert Kaelo was leading a tour through Naboisho conservancy, Kenya, in December 2025 when he spotted a group of scavengers enjoying a meal next to a watering hole.
Dramatic footage captured the moment a giant crocodile appeared and sauntered over to the hippo, completely disregarding its numbers disadvantage.
The crocodile confidently muscled in on the free food while the hyenas could do nothing more than watch on helplessly.
“The stand off went on and on for almost a day because the hyenas were trying to pull the carcass out water but it was too heavy for them.”

Albert said: “I have been a guide for 12 years and seen crocodiles versus lions before, but never versus hyenas.
“The stand off went on and on for almost a day because the hyenas were trying to pull the carcass out water but it was too heavy for them.
“That was the same case for the crocodile as well, but the hyenas couldn’t chase it away.”
