A pair of baboons trapped a leopard at the top of a tree for two hours – before it managed to escape.
Emmanuel Matari was leading a tour through Tarangire National Park, Tanzania, on January 22 when he spotted a baboon troop defending their roost.
Dramatic footage captured the irate monkeys swiping at a young male leopard stuck at the top of the palm tree.
After battling for more than two hours, the leopard was finally able to leap off the trunk, before sprinting away to safety with one of the baboons in hot pursuit.
“I’ve observed the fights between the two before but the quickness and ability of this leopard climbing up and down from the tree to save his life was very special.“
